About Christmas Tree Ornaments Hand Sculptured Pet by Artist Judy Peters
Judy has been sculpting since high school, always with her primary focus on animals and pets. Over the years, she has created pieces such as an actual size owl with each feather exactingly detailed. Full body sculptures of animals like baby harp seals, tigers and lions. She has also done sculptures displayed in shadow boxing, bronze work and abstract sculpting. A bronze bust sculpture of former President Richard Nixon's Irish Setter even gained her notoriaty from the President himself. Almost 15 years ago, Judy sculpted just a few different breeds of dogs, and began selling them at local craft shows. The response was so great, that she has expanded her year-round tree ornament line to over 80 different breeds of dogs, in addition to a large variation of cats and ferrets. In 2000, we expanded the business as daughter, Tracy Yourke, began painting with Judy. Since that time we've worked hard to offer more customizing options for our ornaments. We've added personalized touches like custom painting and choosing from different styles of bandanas, bows, angel wings, and last year, knitted scarves and hats, that make each ornament look so much like your own pet. And now, as we enter our 2006 show season, we are creating and developing an entirely new and original line of dog and cat jewelry that we are really excited about. We will be starting out with pins and some necklaces in our most popular breeds of dogs and cats. We currenty have the items either as hand painted sculptings or in sterling silver, but the real excitment is in the products we are still developing, and with luck, we will be introducing an entire line of "PAWS & CLAWS" jewelry before the year is out.
